Featured Student in Week5: Josh Battat
My name as I said previously is Josh Battat. However, my full name is Joshua Samuel Battat and I am from Wellington, Florida. I was actually born in Freehold, New Jersey and moved here about twelve years ago. I have three siblings, two brothers and a sister; we have two dogs and one just so happens to be a yappy corgi. Also, I have been in a relationship for two years with my girlfriend who recently transferred up to Tallahassee. Anyways, I am here at Florida State University to receive a degree in sport management with a minor in business.
My professional and long-term goal, albeit might seem far-fetched, is to be a general manager in Major League Baseball; hopefully I can get an opportunity with the New York Mets. In my future profession technology is taking over. General managers now are not just players or people who were involved with baseball in some way, they are people with a background in analytics, business, and even computer sciences. Educational technologies are what help set the people applying for these positions apart from one another. Having a solid background in technology is more important than ever in a baseball profession now.
I am constantly on my phone using Snapchat, Twitter, Facebook, and, Instagram trying to stay up-to-date with all my friends and family. I use Twitter mainly to stay updated with baseball transactions and I follow many MLB beat writers, columnists, and insiders, so I always know what is going on during the baseball offseason. I am very excited to take EME 2040 and I feel that it this class will enhance my technological skills and lead me to do greater things in my desired profession.
