Featured Student in Week7-2: Sydney Tomko
Featured Student in Week7-2: Sydney Tomko
Hey! My name is Sydney Tomko. I am an Elementary Education major, trying to be a 1st or 2nd grade teacher. My professional goal is to get students learning at an early age how important school is and how fun you can make it! This relates to educational technologies, because in this day of age technology is a big aspect of life and is really important to younger/ future generations.
Featured Student in Week7-1: Christina Armes
Featured Student in Week7-1: Christina Armes
My name is Christina Armes and I am double majoring in History and Spanish with the hopes of someday becoming a Foreign Service Officer. Educational technologies are important for my career because it is becoming quickly integrated into every part of our lives. At some point, everyone is going to have to teach someone something, so it is best to learn now how to teach educational technology rather than later. I frequently use Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook, and use the internet for both entertainment and for work, such as reading the WSJ.

I use Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Snapchat 24/7 as it is a great way to stay in touch. I like to do basic normal things on the internet, watch videos, post, share, and like picture and other post, and chime in on certain topics with peers. If you’re a big sports, music, or cartoon fan and you want someone to talk to about this, I’m your man. If you wish to reach out to me you can find me on Instagram and twitter @ayyitsd1k, snapchat @kinggrichard27, and YouTube and Facebook under my normal name.

My name as I said previously is Josh Battat. However, my full name is Joshua Samuel Battat and I am from Wellington, Florida. I was actually born in Freehold, New Jersey and moved here about twelve years ago. I have three siblings, two brothers and a sister; we have two dogs and one just so happens to be a yappy corgi. Also, I have been in a relationship for two years with my girlfriend who recently transferred up to Tallahassee. Anyways, I am here at Florida State University to receive a degree in sport management with a minor in business.
My professional and long-term goal, albeit might seem far-fetched, is to be a general manager in Major League Baseball; hopefully I can get an opportunity with the New York Mets. In my future profession technology is taking over. General managers now are not just players or people who were involved with baseball in some way, they are people with a background in analytics, business, and even computer sciences. Educational technologies are what help set the people applying for these positions apart from one another. Having a solid background in technology is more important than ever in a baseball profession now.
I am constantly on my phone using Snapchat, Twitter, Facebook, and, Instagram trying to stay up-to-date with all my friends and family. I use Twitter mainly to stay updated with baseball transactions and I follow many MLB beat writers, columnists, and insiders, so I always know what is going on during the baseball offseason. I am very excited to take EME 2040 and I feel that it this class will enhance my technological skills and lead me to do greater things in my desired profession.

I think educational technologies are important for any career path I choose because it will always help in efficiently writing, whether it be by myself or part of a newspaper or anything in between. I frequently use Facebook, Snapchat, and Instagram, but I’m not the biggest fan of Twitter. I like to use the Internet to stay in touch with people as well as keep up with my classes and a small business that I run. I’m always excited to talk about Harry Potter, my spoken word poetry club Poetic Lyricism (or poetry/literature in general), Hamilton, or any passion or topic that excites you. I’m a fairly open book, and 4 a.m. conversations are my favorite.
